BEHIND THE LENS

Hi! My name is Sabine. I am a family and portrait photographer in Wilanów, Warsaw.

I love working with people and I strongly believe photos help us remember our journey through life and keep memories alive and vivid.

My own journey so far has been very exciting and it is filled with precious moments.  I was born and raised in Germany. Photography was my dad's hobby, so I grew up with a love for creating pictures as memories. I met my husband at university and his first job took us to Australia. We have lived abroad ever since. My degree in intercultural management and economics was a great foundation to work in event management for profit and non-profit organizations. And although this work was very rewarding, I discovered that taking pictures of my friends and their families in my spare time made me really happy. So I began studying photography at the International Center of Photography in NYC and later at the School of Photography in Vienna (Fotoschule Wien) and got a second degree.

I have always loved watching people. I used to do it with my dad when I was a child. We would sit somewhere and wonder about people's stories. Were they happy? What did they do for a living? Did they like it? My own life abroad has opened up new worlds to me and trying to read people is still something I love doing.

Of course I love to travel. Having lived abroad for so many years has only made me enjoy it more. Exploring different countries, their cities and country-sides, their culture, food and art is such a privilege. And meeting new people, learning to see the world from their point of view is an eye opener wherever we go.

Another passion of mine is reading books. Diving into the world of another person's imagination is a fabulous way of loosing myself. I am known for being able to read a book several times. Our library is full of fiction and non-fiction, cook books, photo books and travel guides.

My idea of a perfect evening is sitting down for dinner and a glas of wine with my family and friends and enjoying each others company, ideas and conversations for hours at a time.

My family means everything to me. My husband is the love of my life and my support net in whatever I do. No matter the circumstance we can always trust and rely on each other. Our sons have enriched my life in ways I didn't know were possible. They make me happier and stronger every day, enabling me to be the best I can be in everything I do.
